Emirates NBD and Network International support UAE's transformation to digital economy

In keeping with their commitment to support the transformation of the UAE to a digital economy, Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, and Network International, one of the leading payment solutions providers in the Middle East, served as joint Platinum sponsors of the recently concluded fifth E-Services Excellence Awards.
Organised by Dubai Trade, the E-Services Excellence Award recognised the companies on the Dubai Trade portal which have been most successful in transitioning to online business channels. Currently, there are more than 65,000 companies registered on the portal, comprising Importers, Exporters, Shipping Agents, Clearing & Forwarding Agents, Haulers and Free Zone companies.
Abdulla Qassem, Chief Operating Officer of Emirates NBD Group and Chairman of Network International, said: "Over the last five years the E-Services Excellence Award has become a pinnacle of achievement for those involved in the provision of online services in the UAE. Much like Emirates NBD and Network International, each recipient of the Award has demonstrated a proven commitment to the development of online services in the UAE, and we congratulate all the finalists for their contributions."
Qassem added: "Both Emirates NBD and Network International are deeply involved in the ongoing transformation of the UAE to a truly digital economy, and we are pleased to support the dedicated effort of Dubai Trade in this area. Through the work of Dubai Trade, and initiatives such the E-Services Excellence Award, this transformation continues to gather pace."
Covering nine categories, the E-Services Excellence Award was presented to the companies that recorded the highest percentage increase in the adoption of e-services in 2012. Awards were presented by high profile leaders from Dubai's business community.
