Employers save date for Georgetown Career Fair

Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Q) will open its doors to prospective employers from across the Gulf and beyond at the fifth annual Georgetown Career Fair on Tuesday, March 19, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This event will provide a forum for prominent organizations from Doha and the region to meet directly with the highly-qualified, diverse and talented Georgetown student and graduate population in order to fulfill current and future recruitment needs.

The fair will be held at the Georgetown Building at Qatar Foundation's Education City and is expected to attract over 30 participating organizations.

The event will kick off with a Recognition and Networking Lunch where participants will be able to meet informally with students in their senior year, as well as Georgetown faculty, staff and fellow corporate representatives. Immediately following lunch, the Career Fair will be open to all current students and alumni.

"We've been pleased by the enthusiastic response to date, both from organizations who already employ our graduates as well as others who are eager to tap into the highly-qualified and skilled workforce found within our student and alumni populations," said Renée Gallant, SFS-Q Outreach and Corporate Engagement Manager.

Among confirmed participants are Google, Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Qanect Communications, Qatar Airways, Qatar Foundation, Qatar Museums Authority, QNB, Standard Chartered, Qatar Shell, Vodafone Qatar and others, including government ministries.

In addition to securing professional opportunities for students, the University is using this event as a way to explore new and innovative means to strengthen corporate partnership and engagement with the external community.

Deadline for registration is Thursday March 7, 2012.
