Various business units and employees of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) were recognised for their efforts in achieving Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) management goals and energy conservation at a ceremony, held at the Movenpick Hotel, Bur Dubai.
"Apart from launching the Energy Awards, which is in line with the goals set by the Dubai Integrated Strategy 2030, the awards are aimed at encouraging organisation-wide efforts to promote better optimisation of resources, energy conservation, and sustaining a safe and healthy working environment," said Saif Al Falasi, Executive Director EHSQ & Corporate Affairs, who opened the ceremony.
"By raising awareness and acknowledging the green efforts within the organisation, ENOC is underlining its industry thought leadership and its commitment to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to strengthen a culture of overall excellence in the operations of all business entities," he added.
Waddah Ghanem, Director EHSQ Compliance Directorate, said: "The role of the EHS practitioner is integral to an organisation in promoting a safe workplace that in turn benefits all stakeholders. The Awards will serve as an inspiration for every employee to adhere to best practices in environment, health and safety, as well as uphold green practices that benefit the society as a whole."
Apart from ENOC employees, the event was also attended by EHS practitioners, business partners and representatives from local authorities.
ENOC regularly conducts occupational health, environment, and safety programmes, in addition to organising events that bring professionals from around the world to discuss the newest trends and challenges in the industry.
