Ericsson announces new country manager for Oman operations

Ericsson announced the appointment of Abdullah Al Balushi as country manager for the company's operations in the Sultanate of Oman. In his new role, Al Balushi will be responsible for the strategic development and management of the business in Oman while focusing on advancing the company's leadership through innovation, technology, services and sustainable business solutions.

"Oman is a very important part of our business in the region," said Ray Hassan, President of Ericsson Gulf Countries.

"With Abdullah's extensive industry experience, we are confident that we will add additional value to our business in the Sultanate and contribute even more to its fast-paced growth in the telecoms space," he added.

Al Balushi brings with him over 15 years of telecoms experience.

He started his professional career serving as an operations and maintenance engineer for the General Telecommunication Organization where he was responsible for private radio telecommunication services. Al Balushi also held several positions in the mobile network division at Siemens and Nokia Siemens Networks in Oman, the UAE and Germany.

Al Balushi joined Ericsson in 2008. During his tenure, he held several positions in Ericsson Oman LLC. and progressed within the company until taking the helm as vice president for the GCC region in 2010 and now as country manager.
