Ericsson showcases the latest innovation of networked society in Beirut

With the introduction of LTE and the uptake in the 3G subscribers' base, many operators are experiencing the exponential mobile data traffic increase. Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) is presenting the latest Internet Protocol (IP) solution as part of their "Fourth Generation Mobile Backhaul" roadshow.

The event, which is currently held in Beirut, is focusing on the latest industry innovations and technological advancements to enable the Networked Society in Lebanon.

During the Roadshow, Ericsson is showcasing their end-to-end solution component as a network model to telecom operators. The demo kit, along with a team of experts, is travelling around the world as part of the roadshow to be showcased to mobile operators, network providers and local telecom regulators.

"Ericsson's Mobile Backhaul solution enables operators to build and modernize their networks in order to meet the rapidly evolving mobile technology and sophisticated subscriber requirements. Eventually, our aim is to work hand in hand with our customers and key stakeholders in order to pave the way for a Networked Society in Lebanon and the Levant Region," said Tarek Saadi, President of Ericsson, North Middle East Unit.

The event, which is taking place from February 5th to 8th, is being attended by senior technical teams from key players from the ICT industry in the Levant Region.

In the Middle East, the roadshow was inaugurated in November in Istanbul then moved to Egypt and is now being held in Beirut. It is also scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Dubai and Islamabad.
