With the continuously increasing number of mobile subscribers and high demand for connectivity in Egypt, Ericsson recently showcased the latest Internet Protocol (IP) solution to Egypt's mobile operators and the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) as part of their 'Fourth Generation Mobile Backhaul' roadshow.
During the event, Ericsson demoed their end-to-end solution component as a network model to telecom operators.
The demo kit, along with a team of experts, is travelling around the world as part of the roadshow to be showcased to mobile operators, network providers and local telecom regulators.
"With the continuous increase in mobile data traffic such as downloading videos on mobile phones and the move towards a Networked Society in Egypt, it is becoming essential to evolve the current technology platform to fulfill the future vision of the telecom sector in Egypt," said Isil Yalcin, President of Ericsson, North East Africa region.
The event, which took place from December 16th to 20th, was attended by senior technical teams from Telecom Egypt, Vodafone Egypt, Mobinil and Etisalat as well as representatives from the NTRA.
In the Middle East region, the roadshow was inaugurated in November in Istanbul and is scheduled to take place in Beirut, Riyadh, Dubai and Islamabad.
