Essa Maidoor appointed Dubai Municipality's Deputy Director General

Eng. Essa Al Maidoor has achieved his Bachelor Degree in Engineering from Utah State University in USA.

He is currently the Assistant Director for Engineering and Planning in Dubai Municipality were he makes the overall supervision and directs the public enterprise sector, which includes project management and management of maintenance and advertising section and a focal point of services and Coastal Management Section.

In July 2010, Eng. Essa Al Maidoor was elected as the Chairman of Society of Engineers - UAE. He supervised to have the best management system in the organisation and through his hard work and dedication, the society was awarded new ISO 9001:2008 certification for its management system of engineering activities and practices in the UAE.

Some of his most important practical achievements includes: Contributions to and overseeing the preparation and implementation of development project documents and municipal contracts, Preparation for the application of the bidding Internet E-Tendering, The application of quality management systems project management and procurement contracts, The application of model contracts for municipal privatization projects, Starting the implementation of the municipal investment projects under the BOT system, overseeing the development of the Automated System for Building Control, Supervising the preparation and development of online licensing system for various types of buildings and Photography project designs buildings (more than 2 million documents), In addition of participation, supervision and leading the Municipality green Building committee to issue the Green roofs and Green Buildings Code of practice.

Eng. Essa Al-Maidoor is member of various professional organizations like Supreme Municipal leadership Team, Municipal Technical Committee, Committee for Thermal Insulation, Privatization Commission, Committee for the development of municipal contracts and Follow-up, Committee for hygiene and public health. He is also Chairman of the Committee in Commission for the Management of municipal property, Higher Committee for the electronic archiving of the schemes, Visual axes of the Commission, Emergency committee for rain water discharge and Commission to fill low-lying areas.

He is a Board Member for Emirates Association of the Talented, Union Vice President for UAE Karate, Tae Kwon Do Federation and Board Member of World Center for the cultivation of salt.
