Etisalat, Du to deactivate unregistered SIM card from Jan 17

  • United Arab Emirates: Sunday, January 06 - 2013 at 05:17

UAE telecoms operators Etisalat and Du are to begin from January 17 to deactivate the numbers of subscribers who have received SMS to complete their re-registration process but fail to do so, Emirates 24-7 has reported. Last October, the Telecoms Regulatory Authority (TRA) had extended the deadline for the re-registration of mobile subscribers under the "My Number, My Identity" campaign after Etisalat and Du were unable to provide smooth mechanisms to facilitate, accelerate and stimulate subscribers to update their data.
