Etisalat Egypt launches its own Android powered smartphone

In an innovative step, establishing it as the leader of the smartphone sector in Egypt especially the Android-based mobile devices segment, Etisalat Egypt launched its exclusive first 3G Android-powered smartphone. Combining beautiful shape, high quality, and affordable prices, the smartphone bears Etisalat's name and ensures high quality performance.
The mobile is also equipped with road maps through Wasalni application, in addition to social communication programs Facebook, Twitter, and You Tube. The device is also enhanced by Qualcomm's advanced Snapdragon S1 processor, which combines high speed and energy efficiency to give users faster downloads and longer battery life.
The launch of the device is the first step in Etisalat Egypt's plan to provide several smartphones that will all bear the company name to meet the needs of the various sectors of the Egyptian society, in terms of the smart look and applications alike.
"Etisalat Egypt launched this smartphone as part of its initiative to meet the need of the Egyptian market for a device that combines high power and affordable cost," said Engineer Wael Abu Al Ila, Head of Marketing at Etisalat Egypt.
"We also issued a special tariff for the users of this mobile to meet their needs for data and voice services. This is the first step toward providing smartphones to all members of the society," he added.
For his part, Jihad Srage, Senior Vice President and President of Middle East, Africa and Central Asia operations at Qualcomm, said, "We are excited that Etisalat has chosen our Snapdragon S1 processor to power their first smartphone release. Etisalat's new smartphone is a powerful device for today's value driven consumer. Qualcomm is very proud to have its Snapdragon S1 processor be part of this innovative product offering."
