The UAE's leading telecommunications provider, Etisalat, and BlackBerry manufacturer, Research In Motion (RIM), hosted the first exclusive preview for UAE-based businesses of BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10, RIM's new multiplatform EMM (Enterprise Mobility Management) solution.

Over 200 business partners attended the event, including Etihad, Emirates Airlines, Emirates NBD, HSBC and Nakheel.

BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 brings together device management, industry leading security, and mobile applications management for BlackBerry smartphones, BlackBerry PlayBook tablets, and new BlackBerry 10 smartphones in a consolidated solution. It also provides a single console for managing BlackBerry, Android and iOS devices. BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 prepares organizations for the future of mobile diversity, as well as integrates with existing BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 deployments.

"Etisalat is delighted to be the first telecom service provider in the region to offer an exclusive preview of the BlackBerry 10 platform that will match the expectations of our enterprise customers in the UAE. Our long standing relationship with RIM has provided our corporate customers with mobility solutions that are critical to boosting productivity and maintaining a business edge. RIM has been our trusted partner for many years and therefore we are equally excited to see what the next generation of BlackBerry solutions has to offer," said Abdullah Al Ahmed, Senior Vice President, Business Solutions at Etisalat.

"BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 enables mobile workers to securely access the corporate information - from applications to email - that they need, and provides administrators with efficient tools that can help keep their businesses moving. With BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10, administrators can create separate enterprise and personal profiles on BlackBerry 10 devices, enabling employees to use one device for all their needs," said Robert Bose, Regional Managing Director, Middle East and Africa, RIM.

Ahmed Ibrahim Al Ahmed, CIO for Nakheel who attended the event, said: "I'm very excited about BlackBerry Enterprise Server 10, particularly the seamless migration from BlackBerry Enterprise Server v5.0, and the management of the various types of profiles on a single device. It has a lot of new features which I believe companies will benefit from, and will also help to improve the productivity and security of business."
