Euromoney Conference to gather current economic players for first time

At a crucial time in the economic and political scene in Egypt - senior ministers and international speakers will headline the Euromoney Egypt Conference on October 9-10 at the Fairmont Hotel, Heliopolis. This is the first time under the Morsy government that economic players from across all sectors will come together on one platform to discuss their perspectives on the most pressing issues facing Egypt and its future.

"We are delighted that so many of Egypt's key policy-makers have committed to address the conference," said Richard Banks, Euromoney's regional director.

"This is an eagerly-awaited conference, the first since the Revolution, and what the Ministers and participants have to say will be fascinating and newsworthy not just in Egypt but globally," he added.

Joining the Prime Minister, H.E. Dr. Hisham Kandil, will be H.E. Momtaz Saed Abu El-Nour, Minister of Finance; H.E. Osama Saleh, Minister of Investment; H.E. Eng. Hany Mahmoud, Minister of Communications and Information Technology as well as other government officials to be confirmed.

Joining the ministers will be over 1,000 delegates including representatives from the private sector, multilateral financiers, investors, political leaders, and academics.

In addition a list of high-profile international speakers from finance and investment industries will participate to provide their perspectives on Egypt.

Under the theme 'Restarting the Egyptian Economy; Sharing the Benefits of Investment', the objective of the conference is to send a positive signal to the international community that all key participants in the Egyptian economy agree on the need for investment, the opportunity that Egypt offers, and that the benefits of growth must be shared.

This year's Euromoney Egypt Conference will feature shorter speeches, more debate, more transparency, and more access with live streaming online so those not physically present can watch the conference live.

The conference was originally scheduled for September 25-26, however in order to enable maximum ministerial participation the conference will be held on October 9-10.

Euromoney Conferences, the world's leading organizer of conferences for capital markets and cross border investment, has a long and successful history of working with Egypt based on editorial independence and the belief in fostering partnerships to benefit the Egyptian people.
