The Hotel Show Saudi Arabia 2012
Event Description
The Kingdom's major cities of Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam already boast scores of hotels ranging from three stars to five stars. The Saudi hotel market is segregated into four regions - Makkah (seasonal - religious) and Jeddah, Madina (seasonal - religious), Eastern Region and Riyadh (corporate destination). In addition, in an effort to enhance quality, 2010 also saw the introduction of a classification system for furnished apartments and hotels.
Saudis are one of the highest spending nationalities when travelling but increasingly the trend has shifted to stay at home vacations. This has provided a major stimulus to the hotel sector especially in areas such as Jeddah and Riyadh. Inbound tourism also continues to grow in the Kingdom, rising from 5.3 million visitors in 2006 to 7.7 million visitors in 2010.
