Event Description

National Fuel Gas Code is a safety code that should be applied to the installation of fuel gas piping systems, appliances, equipment, and related accessories. It is revised to help you install and operate gas systems for better public safety and consumer satisfaction. Also it is updated for use with the current techniques and products available today. The aim of this seminar is to provide the attendants with a thorough understanding of life safety and property protection issues including those involving automatic sprinkler systems, standpipes, occupancies, exits, and fire lanes. The Seminar will also address equipment, processes, hazardous materials, and general fire safety.

This seminar will prepare attendants to be able to:
- Classify selected uses into the appropriate occupancy classification
- Identify common deficiencies with fire door installation
- Locate and apply correct requirements for enclosure and protection of exits
- Calculate occupant loads
- Determine minimum width requirements and obstruction limits
- Recognize the fire hazards associated with construction, alteration, and demolition projects
- Determine the applicable general requirements for a facility containing hazardous materials
- Determine inspection, testing, and maintenance requirements for hood and duct systems
