New Executive Housekeeper joins the Grand Millennium Dubai

Ms Paunescu, who moved from Romania to South Africa to expand her skills base, worked as a laboratory technician and a teacher before joining the Prestige Hospitality Group where she trained as a housekeeper.

After gaining experience with Southern Sun and Protea hotels, she was tempted to travel to the Arabian Gulf to join the thriving hospitality sector in the UAE, starting as executive housekeeper with the Millennium Hotel Abu Dhabi before taking up the challenge of opening the Concorde Hotel Fujairah.

Fluent in English as well as Romanian, Ms Paunescu lists her hobbies as painting, reading, gardening and interior design when she is not hands-on at the Grand Millennium.

Welcoming her to the team, General Manager Peter Mansourian said the role of the Executive Housekeeper was vital to the smooth running of the hotel: "There is no over-estimating their contribution as a competent administrator, who must keep on top of issues ranging from health and safety to green policies while ensuring the hotel is equipped and supplied efficiently and unobtrusively in every area - and I am confident that Ms Paunescu brings with her every skill to carry out this task."
