Expat remittances from Qatar hit $60bn between 2006-2012

Qatar Chamber has said that foreign workers have remitted $60bn overseas between 2006 and 2012, the Peninsula has reported. Some 54% of the $60bn was routed to Asian countries, followed by Arab countries that accounted for 28%, according to the chamber's 2012 annual report. India was the top destination of the remittances, followed by the Philippines, the US, Egypt and the UAE.
