Facebook set to announce Microsoft's online ad platform acquisition

Facebook is expected to announce today sits acquisition of Microsoft's Atlas Solutions division, Ad Age has reported, citing to two people briefed on the plans. Microsoft acquired Atlas as part of its $6bn acquisition of aQuantive in 2007. For the world's largest social networking website, the acquisition of the online advertising platform would give it a way to compete with Google's DoubleClick without having to create its own service.
