Apple Inc. is expected to ship five million units of its recently released fifth-generation iPod by the end of 2012, due to the device's upgraded technology and larger screen size, Digitimes has reported, citing industry sources. The new fifth-generation iPod has adopted in-cell touch screen panel technology and has a 4-inch screen just like the new iPhone 5. The sources also said the iPod's reduced depth to 0.24" and 2.10-ounce weight will also be attractive features for consumers who want light ultra-mobile devices.
