Profile and Background
OTH operates GSM services through partly or fully owned subsidiaries in Egypt (Mobinil-31.3%), Tunisia (Tunisiana-50%), Algeria (Djezzy-87.7%), Pakistan (Mobilink-88.7%), Bangladesh (Bangalink-100%), Iraq (Iraqna-100%) and Zimbabwe (Telecel-100%).
OTH also provides fixed line and Internet & data services in Egypt and Algeria. Among others, it owns 64% of LINKdotNET, which is the largest Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Egypt, and 50% of Consortium Algerien des Telecommunications (CAT), which is the second fixed telephony operator in Algeria.
OTH's subscriber base exceeded 30 mn as at 31 December 2005, an increase of 107% YoY and 18% over Q3 2005. The average mobile penetration rate across its markets stood at 11.5% by end of September 2005.
OTH has approximately 15,000 employees.
