Profile and Background
Established in 1956, Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) is the kingdom's sole refinery. It is located in Zarka, 30 kilometers northeast of Amman. Since 1960, the refinery has undergone three major expansions, increasing its capacity to 14,000 tones a day (t/d) from 1,000 t/d.
Manufacturing and refining petroleum and hydro carbonic components and manufacturing secondary derivatives resulted from the refining operations, also to storage, distribute and marketing these products.
