Kuwait Finance and Investment Company (KFIC) was established during March 2000 as Kuwait Financing Services Company but was significantly transformed in 2004 when it added investment services to its existing financing services business.

The financing services it provides encompasses both consumer and commercial loans. The schemes cover vehicles, consumer good, real estate, and commercial needs. Although this segment had 80% growth in revenue between 2003 and annualized 2005, its contribution to the business has shrunk.

Within only a year of launching its investment services division management has succeeded in its initial objective of diversifying the firm. During 2003 financing income accounted for 87.6% of income.

By 9m 05 only 24.0% of income was attributable to financing income, 36.7% was investment income, and 39.0% was management and advisory fees from investment services. The investment services business incorporates asset management, venture capital, buyouts, along with flotations and placements.

The firm also provides other services such as online trading for the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE).
