The public was offered 4 million 50 per cent paid-up shares in a subscription in September-October 1997. The shares were listed on 25 January 1998 at RO 1 ($2.60).The company recorded a loss of RO 855,206 ($2.

2 million) in the period 16 November 1997-31 December 1998. A further loss was recorded in 1999. Its 61 founders include Oman Chromite Company with 5 per cent and Al-Ahlia Portfolio Securities Company-which merged with Oman National Holding Company in 1998-and the Oryx Joint Investment Account with 2 per cent each.
