Profile and Background
National Pharmaceutical Industries Company was established in the autumn of 1995, following the flotation of 92 per cent of its equity, to manufacture medicines for local use and for export. The Health Ministry has a stake in the company.
The total cost of the project is about RO 5 million ($13 million). Trial production was scheduled to begin before the end of 1999, with commercial production beginning in the first quarter of 2000. At the end of 1998, the company had deposited RO 2.
