Finmeccanica companies attend IDEX and NAVDEX 2013

All Finmeccanica companies attending IDEX and NAVDEX have a long track record as suppliers of high-tech products to the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the region, and are acknowledged as reliable industrial partners in the development of growth strategies in international markets.

Another important Finmeccanica's company, Alenia Aermacchi, is present at IDEX with its range of products, such as the M-346, the new generation advanced trainer offered worldwide and developed by the company as the next technological step after the MB.339, flight by the Al Fursan National Aerobatic team.
The Company is also present with the C-27J tactical transport aircraft that is now offered also in the MC-27J multi-mission version for special forces use and with the ATR 42MP and its biggest version ATR 72MP, special versions of the renowned ATR regional aircraft. Alenia Aermacchi has collaboration with UAE's Strata company for the ATR programme, for the production of the vertical fin.
The Company is also a partner of the Eurofighter Typhoon fighter aircraft, recently ordered by Oman who becomes the 7th customer. Alenia Aermacchi CEO, Giuseppe Giordo, declares, "Since more than 40 years ago our jet trainers, basic trainers and transport aircraft, have been in service in several countries in MENA. We are proud of these successes and of the collaborations set with the local air forces and industries."
In the electronic field, during IDEX Selex ES is displaying surveillance mission systems for manned and unmanned platforms, leading-edge AESA radar and airspace surveillance radar, EW and EO systems for fixed and rotary wing applications and sensor systems. Selex ES will also showcase its interoperable command and control systems, such as the Siaccon, including the dismounted soldiers ones, all comprised within the Italian programme Forza NEC for the Armed Forces digitalization.
Also on show there will be data links and integrated cyber-security solutions. As a major part of the Eurofighter Typhoon programme, Selex ES will also be supporting the aircraft's campaign activity at the show.
"In IDEX's NAVDEX area, the Baynunah, Falaj 2 and Abu Dhabi class naval vessels are displaying Selex ES naval combat management systems, just part of our portfolio of advanced sensors and systems," said Selex ES CEO Fabrizio Giulianini.

OTO Melara products are in service in UAE's Armed Forces since late 70s. The company is proposing, for the new projects of the UAE Navy the new 76/62 Super Rapid Strales, the DART guided ammunition and Vulcano long range projectile. OTO Melara is proposing in Idex a large catalogue of Army and Naval turrets , like the HITFIST 30mm two man turret, the HITFIST 30mm Overhead Weapon Station and the HITFACT 105/120mm turret.
Finally, WASS is showing two new products: the new FLASH BLACK Lightweight Torpedo, the first in the world in terms of flexibility, performances and very low life-cycle-cost, and the new BLACK SNAKE Towed Array Sonar, the smallest and lightest towed array sonar on the market.
