Second follow-up meeting with the economic delegation of Thai Prime Minister visit to Bahrain 13-15 May 2012

This came during the second follow up meeting with the economic delegation chaired by the Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro to follow up visit outcome of Thailand Prime Minister which came upon the gracious initiation of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, where the meeting was attended By Thai Ambassador Mr. Vichai Varasirikul and Minister Counselor Mr. Witchu Vejajiva and a number of officials, businessmen, stakeholders and companies owners.

During the meeting, the Minister commended the great efforts and cooperation shown by Thai Ambassador in Bahrain. In addition to those made by national companies and institutions, businessmen and investors, that are develop bilateral ties and activate memoranda of cooperation between Thailand and Bahrain.

Where they discussed areas of cooperation and joint investment, which summarized as follows:
1- Proposal to establish a Thai Business Center in Bahrain.
2- Increase cooperation in food security and increase the imports of Jasmine Thai rice to Bahrain.
3- The possibility to benefit from Thai experience fish farming filed.
4- Proposed to import cement from Thailand to Bahrain.
5- The possibility to cooperate in medical services field including medical institutes and nurses training.
6- Discussed the latest developments of business deals between the private sector of both countries, after the visit of Thailand Prime Minister.

The Minister concluded the meeting by emphasizing the importance to follow-up such projects and stimulates the private sector to provide which will enhance partnership between the private sector of both countries.
