Fortinet discusses strategies to overcome new corporate network security threats at international conferences in Amman and Riyadh

Fortinet, a world specialist in high-performance network security, has recently conducted a keynote presentation on 'How to Make your Security 'Aware' in a BYOD World' during its participation as Gold Sponsor at the 8th Jordanian International Electrical and Electronics Engineering Conference (JIEEEC 2013) which was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister in Amman, Jordan.
The presentation highlighted how, with features such as client reputation, endpoint profiling and authentication, users can make their security "aware" through granular control over users, devices, data, and applications.
Fortinet also participated as a Diamond Sponsor of the Middle East & North Africa Information Security Conference (MENA ISC) 2013, which was recently held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Mohammed Jamil Mulla, KSA Minister of Communications & IT.
During the conference, which was organized with the theme "Business & Cyber Security", Fortinet presented latest techniques and solutions on countering DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks. The presentation focused on the current global picture of DDoS threats and different mitigation methods, especially considering the potential DDoS threats and volumes are increasing as more machines including mobile devices join the Internet.
Eng. Bashar Bashaireh, Regional Director of Fortinet Middle East, said, "Network security is one of the most pressing concerns of enterprises in the region, that constantly have to deal with both internal and external security threats every day. Our participation at the JIEEEC 2013 and MENA ISC 2013 served as an excellent avenue to highlight the latest trends and techniques in dealing with these evolving challenges and vulnerabilities. A survey earlier conducted by Vision Critical on behalf of Fortinet has revealed that among future management and decision makers, BYOD is confirmed as a mainstream activity with nearly three quarters (74%) of respondents already regularly engaged in the practice, including 64% of respondents in the UAE. Moreover, 56% of respondents in the UAE consider using their personal devices at work as a right.
