Fosun Group, Forbes and Kerzner International jointly welcomed guests to Atlantis, The Palm

The renowned Atlantis, The Palm resort in Dubai, United Arab Emirates received 130 guests in an evening held recently.
Mr. Guo Guangchang, Fosun's Chairman; Mr. Liang Xinjun, Vice Chairman and CEO of Fosun; Mr. Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes; as well as Mr. Sol Kerzner, Chairman and Mr. Alan Leibman, CEO of Kerzner International, respectively; welcomed 130 guests, including Mr. John Snow, the former U.S. Treasury Secretary.
On behalf of Fosun Group, Mr. Guo Guangchang expressed his gratitude to the partners and guests during the dinner at Ossiano. He illustrated the significance of opening doors of the U.S., Europe and the Middle East markets with support from the partners. Mr. Guo also stated that Fosun is also pleased to have been chosen by its partners to help lead their way to contribute and share collaboratively China's future growth. Addressing to concerns about the slowdown of China's economy, Mr. Guo said he believed that although China's economy is currently facing the most profound adjustment in 30 years, it is also embracing emergence of a new phase of growth opportunities from domestic consumption and consumption upgrades, as well as urbanisation; primarily in areas of education, entertainment, tourism, medical services, etc.
Mr. Liang Xinjun shared in the subsequent dialogue session that the moment belongs to an age of vulnerability, when entrepreneurs and investors embrace the worst and the best of the times in their careers, as opportunities always come after crises. Under the current circumstance where both crises and opportunities coexist, entrepreneurs and investors need partners more than ever, as partners offer a good buffer during difficult times and share resources that help facilitate development during good times.
Mr. John Snow reiterated his concerns over the commercial hostility bought by the slowdown in the global economy. He called on Government to relaxing their regulatory grips and expressed his positive view on the prospects of growth in the future growth for Fosun and other Chinese private enterprises. Mr. Steve Forbes, Mr. Sol Kerzner, Mr. Alan Leibman, and Mr. Antinori, from Emirate Airline spoke at the scene and expressed their appreciation to Fosun's high-quality branding activities.
The cocktail party and dinner were hosted in Atlantis, The Palm. The unique venues of the evening included The Lost Chambers and Ossiano, surprising and delighting guests. Atlantis is part of Kerzner International and is the first truly integrated entertainment destination in the region and has made the resort into one of Dubai's icons. One&Only The Palm and One&Only Royal Mirage in Dubai are also part of Kerzner International.
This is the twelfth annual Forbes Global CEO Summit. Held in Dubai in 2012, the Summit saw attendance of over 400 entrepreneurs, business leaders and academics from around the world. The theme of this year's Forbes Global Summit was "The Race Ahead" which invited global business leaders to discuss issues relating to post-crisis recovery and sustaining prosperity. Mr. Liang Xinjun, Vice Chairma & CEO of Fosun Group, was invited to attend and deliver a speech during the summit.
In recent years, Fosun Group has invested in the Club Med and Folli Follie; established strategic partnerships with the Carlyle Group and Prudential Financial, Inc.; as well as creating its first private-sector sino-foreign life insurance joint venture company in China with Prudential Financial, Inc. During this period, Fosun Group has hosted an array of events in New York, Athens, London and Dubai that attracted interest from the business community and the media. They have helped boost Fosun's brand equity that grooms the Group into a pioneer of overseas development powered by private enterprises founded in China.
