Galfar posts 20% rise in net profit, secures OR9.4m contract

Oman-based Galfar Engineering and Contracting has posted a 20.3% rise in net profit for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2012 to OR4m, compared with OR3.3m in the corresponding period of last year, Muscat Daily has reported. Galfar said its contract and other income marginally fell by 1.2% to OR237.5m during the period, compared with OR240.4m a year ago. The company also said that it has been awarded a OR9.4m contract by the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) for the first phase of the construction of water network project in Wilayat of Rustaq in South Batinah. The completion period of the project is 24 months, in addition to 60 days for mobilisation.
