Galfar's 2012 order book backlog reached $1.778bn

Omani construction firm Galfar Engineering and Contracting has said the total value of projects bagged in 2012 reached OR454m ($1.778bn), Muscat Daily has reported. "Our endeavour will be to continue to maintain this level of order book while bettering it in a sustainable manner," said chairman of Galfar, Salim Said Hamad al Fannah al Araimi. "The upcoming building complexes, railway roads and tunnel projects will be of particular interest for Galfar's advancement into futuristic technologies and mechanisation," he said. The company said it expects its portfolio of projects to also grow in Saudi Arabia, where it has registered a branch office and started the process of prequalification.
