GAPCorp FNI, Etisalat enter partnership for GPS vehicle tracking, RFID-based solutions

GAPCorp FNI FZ LLC, which offers an innovative track and trace service designed for automobile industry, today announced a landmark business partnership with Emirates Telecommunications Corporation [Etisalat] to provide mobile communication solutions for GPS vehicle tracking systems and Radio Frequency Identification [RFID] based solutions.

The partnership between GAPCorp and Etisalat was unveiled during the high-profile GITEX Technology Week, currently under way in Dubai. Both GPS tracking devices as well as the RFID readers will use Etisalat Mobile SIM Cards to send or receive the data.

As a result of this partnership, GAPCorp plans to sell over 100,000 units of its GPS vehicle tracking systems in the first year and increase it to over 350,000 units by 2016. GAPCorp has collaborated with the developer of a revolutionary RFID solution to track students within the school transport system, which helps monitor and alert school administrations as well as parents when a student boards or alights the bus at the designated bus stops or schools.
