Reinforcing its commitment to the community as part of its corporate social responsibility mandate, GAPCORP Holdings, a Group of companies with diversified products and services in 4 continents, supported a unique symposium on Breast Cancer held at Grand Hyatt, Dubai.

GAPCORP sponsored the one-day event organized by Women Empowerment Group [WE Group] in association with Zahra Breast Cancer Association.

The symposium brought together experts on Breast Cancer, as also women who related real lifetime experiences with the health condition.

Nasser Watar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GAPCorp Group of Companies, said: "We are proud to be associated with this unique Breast Cancer event in Dubai. This support goes a long way towards building community awareness of the disease which cuts across all social barriers and is one of the most common and preventable forms of cancer, if detected early."

He added: "With increasing prevalence of breast cancer among women in the Middle East, we feel it is necessary to tackle this issue soon - that one in eight women worldwide are diagnosed with Breast Cancer makes this a real scary proposition. Through this support, we are aiming to reach our employees, consumers, customers and the general community alike with the important message of early detection."
