Egypt's Ghabbour Auto (GB Auto), the country's only listed car manufacturer, has opened a new facility to assemble Chinese cars Geely, Ahram has reported. The move follows the signing of an agreement with the Hong Kong-based Geely Automobile to begin distributing Geely cars in the North Africa region, GB Auto said. "The facility has already produced the first locally assembled Geely Emgrand 7 models," the company said. Investment firm Beltone Finance said that GB Auto is expected to sell some 6,000 units of Emgrand 7 in 2013. "We are forecasting GB Auto to sell 6,000 Emgrand 7 cars in 2013, and we expect this figure to steadily increase, reaching 23,000 in 2016," Beltone said.
