GCC health agency joins IEQ Conference

Tawfik A M Khoja, the Director General, Executive Board, of the Health Ministers Council for Cooperation Council will lead a field of IEQ experts during the 1st Annual Middle East Indoor Environmental Quality Conference, on the 12th and the 13th of May in Dubai, UAE.

The Conference, produced by CPI Industry and with an HVAC focus to it, will see presentations and discussions on topics such as the role of civil engineering in ensuring good IEQ, the critical nature of air filtration and ducting, chemical contamination, humidification, dehumidification, thermal comfort, acoustics and vibration in the built environment.

Engr Khoja's participation is a key element of the conference. He will be speaking on the topic, 'Sustainable Healthcare Infrastructure with emphasis on indoor environmental quality', during the plenary session.

While the Conference will address IEQ-related issues in healthcare facilities, it will also examine the issue of occupants' comfort and its proven correlation with productivity. Numerous studies in schools in the United States, for instance, have concluded how good IEQ leads to enhanced performance.

In addition to healthcare and educational facilities, the Conference will be looking at IEQ in residential and commercial spaces, including hotels, malls, airports and food establishments.

"Good IEQ ought not to be an after-thought, given its critical nature in ensuring good health and comfort in the built-environment," said B Surendar, Editorial Director & Associate Publisher of CPI Industry.
