German pavilion to have eleven exhibitors at Al Fares 2012 targeting Gulf equine industry

Al Fares 2012, the 9th International Equine Trade Fair, will open its doors on 3rd October 2012 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) with a strong German participation. Over 200 companies from over 20 countries from across the globe will showcase a host of products targeted at the equestrian market of the region.

Commenting on the expo, Mr. Satish Khanna, General Manager, Al Fajer Information and Services, organisers of the fair, said, "This year, a significant number of German players from the equine trade are participating, endorsing the fact that Al Fares is a significant exhibition recognized worldwide as a leading trade platform to do business and capitalize on the booming regional market for equestrian products."

Khanna added, "Germany will have one of the largest contingent which includes leading names like Dickenherr Trucks, Laakem USG, Waldhausen, Tropmed and Boekmann. The strong participation of the German-based firms demonstrates the importance of Middle East as a strategic market for trading equestrian products for European companies. The UAE is a globally acknowledged hub of the equestrian industry in terms of horses, equipment and infrastructure."

He added, "This is the second German participation at the show as a pavilion, following their successful participation in Al Fares 2010."

Al Fares Dubai 2012 will highlight new products and services for horses and riders. The expo will see horse owners, trainers, chiefs of the equine industry, renowned jockeys, polo professionals and horse lovers from across the world converging on Dubai to participate in the fair

The UAE will have the single largest contingent, with 50 companies taking part in the show. Commenting on the UAE's regional position in the equine industry, Khanna said, "The UAE tops the list of GCC countries when it comes to the equine industry due to the many world class races held, including endurance, flat races and show jumping and the variety of private and public clubs in the country."

He added, "In addition to Germany, the exhibitors also include global players in the equestrian trade market from UK, USA, France, Oman, Netherland and Italy. Collectively, these companies represent a variety of specialized brands from across the world."

Khanna added, "The UAE and the Middle East countries belong to the most dynamic markets for the horse industry and sporting goods. Horse riding is becoming more and more common as a sports and leisure activity. In this case the well-known know-how of German companies is warmly welcomed by the Arabian horse riders and horse industry."

At Al Fares 2012, manufacturers of horse sporting goods will show the latest range of products and innovations for the Arabian market. The scope of German companies cover every aspect of equestrian equipment such as saddles, snaffles or apparel as well as anything for breeding.

Some of the companies have been present at Al Fares for several years and have already established offices in Dubai or the Gulf Region. The German companies will showcase the high quality of German traditional manufacturing as well as the famous German horse culture that comprehend all advantages marked with the phrase "Made in Germany".

The German Federal Ministry of Economy, the German Trade Fair Commission and the BSI - Association of the German Sporting Goods Industry will welcome visitors to their pavilion.

KG, BSI - Association of the German Sporting Goods Industry (Bundesverband der Deutschen Sportartikel-Industrie e.V.

The German sporting goods industry directly or indirectly employs 120,000 people who generate an annual turnover of EUR11.4bn. The BSI is a member of the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) with headquarters in Brussels and thus also a member of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) with headquarters in Bern.
