  • PRESS RELEASE

The number of students pursuing higher education in the Middle East continues an upward trend with up to 95 per cent of female and 80% of male students enrolled in the final year of secondary school applying for admissions to higher education institutes.

The UAE in particular has one of the highest application participation rates in the world, highlighting a growing interest in regional and overseas universities. In 2011 alone, 1,025 out of 3,090 students who travelled to the UK for higher education were Emiratis.

GETEX Spring 2013, the most powerful and result-driven forum for student recruitment in the Middle East and Asia, once again expects to attract a record participation from students interested in higher education providers in the Middle East and around the world. This year, GETEX will feature over 2,000 different course options from more than 35 countries, offering students a truly comprehensive range of top-quality programs to choose from.

For the past 25 years, educators have been establishing first-rate contacts with prospective students at GETEX, generating unprecedented conversion rates in the process. Leading regional and international universities take part in the show, which has become the most effective marketing and networking platform for educationists and a favourite for students looking for the best academic programs to match their needs.

"Participating at GETEX is a strategic decision for the universities. Basically, it is the only specialised event in the UAE around the year where potential students for undergraduate and postgraduate studies will benefit substantially from physically meeting the reputed universities and will gain the desired information for their studies to build their career path or to enhance it," said Wassim Hamadah, the Head of Marketing in Middlesex University, Dubai.

GETEX Spring 2013, which marks the 25th edition of the event, will continue its commitment to the long-term growth and development of the region's education sector. Scheduled for April 17 to 19 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, the show's silver jubilee edition will showcase key education interests in General Education, Higher Education, Vocational & Occupational Training, Professional Development, Sports Education, Education Tourism along with Education Resources and Supplies.
