Global Water: Oil and Gas returns to Dubai on 11-12 June 2013

  • PRESS RELEASE

The CWC Group, UAE Ministry of Environment and Water and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy this week announced the second Global Water: Oil and Gas Summit 2013 will take place 11-12 June 2013 at the Madinat Jumeirah, Majlis Al Salam, Dubai, UAE.

Water plays a pivotal role in the production of oil and gas in the Middle East and the partnership between these industries is acknowledged as essential to meet the continually growing demand for oil and gas.

As the demand continues to increase, the effective use of water - particularly in water-sparse areas such as the Middle East - is widely regarded to be of the highest importance.

This two day Summit will tackle two global issues critical to this region - energy production and water conservation.

Global Water Event Producer, Gurpreet Hayre, when speaking about the upcoming Summit, said, "We have created a platform for the water and oil and gas industries to be able to exchange information, ideas and together build sustainable solutions moving forward."

Launched in 2012, Global Water was the first and only event of its kind to take place in the hub of the Middle East oil and gas industry. Hailed as thought-leading in its first year, the returning Summit calls for government officials and senior representatives from across the water and oil and gas industries to attend and discuss best practices for boosting production through successful water strategies. The Summit will also examine how to maximise water usage whilst balancing environmental considerations.

Hayre further stated, "What was particularly pleasing from the feedback received from the first Global Water Summit in 2012 was the value that attendees reported as having gained from the Summit. We are seeking to build upon this by creating a solutions-driven forum that can help assist with the global water challenge that is faced by the oil and gas industry."
