The Royal Golf Club's management team is delighted to announce the appointment of Jordan Fairweather as the new Golf Course Superintendent, responsible for ensuring unrivalled playing surfaces for members and guests on both the 18 hole Montgomerie championship course and on the 9 hole par 3 Wee Monty course.

Fairweather hails from Scotland and has been working in the greenkeeping industry for 15 years.

He spent seven years at the prestigious Loch Lomond Golf Club while working on 11 European Tour events. He graduated in Golf Course Management and Agronomy from Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA and went on to work at the 2007 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club and the 2008 Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club.

He moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2008 to take up the position of Construction Superintendent for Yas Links, Dubai Golf City and Meydan race track whilst also overseeing maintenance on Bayern Munich's winter training pitches at Al Nasr Football Stadium. Prior to joining the Royal Golf Club, Fairweather was employed at Pravets Golf Club in Bulgaria which staged the PGA Professional Championship of Europe tournament last month.

"We are delighted to welcome Jordan to the Royal Golf Club - his extensive previous experience means he will be an enormous asset to the team," stated DJ Flanders, the Club's incoming General Manager who has recently been appointed to the Club himself following the signing of Troon Golf as the Club's new management company.

Fairweather's new position at the Royal Golf Club will be supported by Angus Mahoney, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent and Jaffer Hasan, Trainee Assistant Superintendent.
