Foreword
Twenty years ago, when the first full grass 18-hole golf course was opened in Dubai, the emirate was big on ambition, but it is unlikely anyone thought it, or its neighbouring emirates, would be quite the forces they now are in the international golfing calendar.
Today it has major international golf championships and from next year will hold the richest tournament in the world, at the still-under-development Jumeirah Golf Estates.
With so many courses now available, it's no surprise that tourism and golf residents are now big business. Properties attached to golf courses command a premium, as you'll discover in the report, making them a great potential investment for buyers and a tranquil location for living.
In this report we look at the growing business of golf for the UAE, the money it brings into the emirates, how golf tourism is expanding and take a peek at some of the courses we can expect in the near future.
