The setting for the show down of the three Darling sisters will be the five-star Yas Viceroy hotel - and the auspicious murder date is February 6.
While the Darlings drown in chocolate in the kitchen, guests will be more pleasantly immersed in a fine dining and interactive show hosted by renowned Italian cocoa maestro, Gianluca Fusto and host venue chef Michel Jost. Pastry master Chef Fusto is an international ambassador for exclusive and gastronomic French chocolate brand Valrhona - Gourmet Abu Dhabi's Official Chocolate Partner.
"With desserts viewed as the latest experiments of contemporary art, Chef Fusto will bring an element of magic to this marvellous murder mystery night," said Noura Al Dhaheri, Leisure Products Development Manager for Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), the festival organiser.
"What's more, he gets to join in the entertainment with a starring role as a celebrity chef with a fiery temper and a love for grand gestures. Will Gianluca Fusto accelerate the departure of the Darling sisters, or will it be someone else?" she added.
The fast-paced 'whodunit' will unfold over each course, led by Inspector Chan of the Hong Kong Police and his bumbling sidekick Lawrence, and helped by the physic powers of a fourth secret Darling sister. With the help of her visions and 'conversations' with her dead sisters, Chan and Lawrence will unravel the bizarre mystery of the three sisters murdered by chocolate. Will it be the bitter former maître-d seeking revenge for years of bad reviews? Or perhaps it was the deceptively pleasant food critic Jamila Kapoor eliminating a food-blog rival? Or was it the hysterical, event planning diva Andrea de Costa determined to make her event a success, even if she has to kill to do it?
The only way to find out is to be part of the fun! Ticket reservations for the Murder by Chocolate themed dinner open January 8. Dress is formal, and the event, which begins at 7pm, will run until 11pm.
