New Gulf International School to open in Oman

Officials have announced the launch of a new international school in Oman to cater to a multicultural local and expatriate community in the Sultanate, Times of Oman has reported. "The Gulf International School's curriculum will be formulated around the British National Curriculum, with suitable modifications taking into consider an international mix of students and their requirements," said George Mathew, director of the new school. Located at Madinat Sultan Qaboos, the new school will be launching from this month, accepting admissions for Kindergarten 1, Kindergarten 2 and Year 1. Over subsequent years, the school will add more levels and grow up to Year 13, said Mathew. Currently, the school is housed in a double storied school building and will move to a purpose built campus in the next few years, he added.
