Gulf Medical University to host IMSACON 2012

Gulf Medical University has been identified as the Headquarters for Middle East Chapter of International Medical Sciences Academy 'IMSA'.

IMSA is an Associate Member of Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences - CIOMS, Geneva.

Mr. Thumbay Moideen will be the Patron of the IMSA Middle East Chapter and Prof. Gita Ashok Raj, Provost GMU will be the Chairperson of the Chapter.

Leading experts from UAE, India and USA will be addressing on various topics related to medicine, Surgery, Women's health, Radiology & Diagnostics and Medical Education. The two day conference is accredited by Ministry of Health UAE for 11 CME hrs. Over 200 international and local delegates are expected to attend the conference.

The concluding ceremony and convocation of IMSA will be held in Kempinski Hotel Ajman on the 7th October 2012. His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman will be the Chief Guest and Prof. Ian Anderson, President royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow UK will be the Guest of Honor.

Ruler of Ajman to be conferred Honorary Fellowship of IMSA

His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman will be awarded Honorary Fellowship of IMSA during the Convocation ceremony of The International Medical Sciences Academy on 7th October 2012.

"In recognition of the farsighted vision, great leadership and direction of His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the President and Board of trustees of International Medical Sciences Academy have unanimously decided to award the prestigious fellowship to His Highness. We are grateful to His Highness for accepting the fellowship," said Dr. K. Jagadeesan, President of IMSA. "It is an honor for the academy," he added.

"We are also pleased to award Honorary Fellowship to Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President Board of Governors of Gulf Medical University Ajman in recognition of his contributions to medical education and healthcare. He has demonstrated exemplary vision and developed the university into a world class institution in a short span of time," said Dr. Jagadeesan.

Dr. Leela Prasad from University of Illinois, College of Medicine, Astronaut Ms. Sunita Williams and Mr. A.C.Shanmugam, Chairman RR Group of Institutions India will also be receiving the honorary fellowship during the ceremony.
