Half of food samples tested in Sharjah unfit for human consumtion

The Food Laboratory of Sharjah municipality has said more than 50% of the food samples tested by the facility had been deemed unfit for human consumption during 2012 inspections, Khaleej Times has reported. The laboratory tested 1,409 food samples from establishments including water companies, restaurants, cafes, cafeterias, food outlets and manufacturing plants, and 744 were found to be unsatisfactory, said the lab's director, Najla Al Mualla.
