  • PRESS RELEASE

The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award 'HIPA' is set to take part in its latest international event at the Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival in Malaysia. The award, which is in its second season of competition is set to lay claim to the largest grand prize award in the world.

HIPA's participation at KLPF 2012 comes on the back of the Photokina trade fair in Cologne, Germany which was a huge success for the award.

Interest in the award was paramount in Germany and led to multiple agreements with some of the biggest organisations and associations in the photography and imaging industries.

Sahar Al Zarei, the assistant Secretary General of HIPA pointed out, "The award's participation in KLPF is due to the huge interest in the field of photography in South East Asia. By taking part in the KLPF, we are placing ourselves amongst some of the world's leading brands in the field whom will also be present. By setting a benchmark at Photokina 2012, we hope to repeat our successes this time around in Malaysia."

Al Zarei continued, "we felt that KLPF shared a similar vision to us at HIPA in terms of raising awareness of photography amongst young and beginner photographers. We are excited by the many opportunities present here and aim at establishing a great rapport with the Malaysian and Asian photographic communities."

The Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival runs from the 5th to the 7th of October in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur. The annual event is set to attract some of the leading continental and international names and brands in the imaging industry.
