A cargo vessel owned by a Dubai-based businessman has been stranded in Socotra Island near the Gulf of Aden for over a month after it ran aground following bad weather. The vessel began its journey in Mumbai on October 7 and was heading for Mogadishu, Somalia when it ran into rough weather. At the time of the incident on October 22, the ship was loaded with 850 tonnes of sugar. The 10 Indian crew members onboard were rescued by an Iranian vessel and offloaded in Aden, reported Khaleej Times.
