Haya Water participates at Muscat Festival

Haya Water is participating in the Muscat Festival and taking its positive messages about its world class water reuse project and preserving the environment to the public in a fun and entertaining way over the coming four weeks.

The company will display a number of entertaining and educational activities in its Al Amerat Park stall which will provide a complete overview of the company's ambitious water reuse project that is now underway in many areas of Muscat Governorate.

The company is also using its special mascot - Mudrik to interact with the public every day and will be handing out branded items to visitors who come to the Haya Water stall.

Haya Water is also creating a special awareness zone for families during the Festival about the water reuse project, the Kala Compost plant which runs according to highest international standards. In addition, there will be another corner dedicated to the Al Ansab wetlands which attracts more than 280 types of immigrant birds and have becoming increasingly popular as a tourist destination. To keep the young ones entertained, there will also be a special children's quiz zone with daily prizes and a special photo board featuring Mudrik.

Additionally at weekends there will be special fun and activities for children including face painting, drawing and painting competition and distributing branded balloon and painting books.

Commenting on their participation at the Muscat Festival, Eng. Hussain AbdulHussain, CEO Haya Water said: "We are delighted to having a significant presence at Oman's biggest annual cultural event and using it as a platform to tell our story in a fun, informative and educational way.

"Ultimately the biggest beneficiaries of our water reuse project will be individual and institutions. Therefore, Haya Water decided to create a family zone for visitors to come and find out more about what we are doing to make Muscat a better city.

He added: "I am sure that visitors will have a wonderful time when they visit Haya Water's stall, owing to all the interactive activities that will be used to communicate with them to share more information about the importance of Haya Water's world class water reuse project towards preserving the environment and public health. The emphasis will also be on the importance of treating wastewater according to highest international standards, and using treated effluents for irrigation, landscaping and keeping the parks, open spaces, golf courses green for everyone to enjoy."

The CEO stressed that Al Amerat is one of the regions that benefits from the water reuse project and one wastewater project was awarded in October 2012. The other three projects will be awarded during the first quarter of this year. Muscat Festival is a very good chance to communicate with different community members across regions and introduce them to the importance and environmental benefits of the project further to answering any inquires related to the company's plans.

Haya Water is fully committed to creating growing environmental awareness among Omani society as it develops its pioneering water reuse project across Muscat that will make a huge impact on the conservation of valuable water resources.
An event such as the Muscat Festival that runs to February 28th is a perfect location for Haya Water to demonstrate its support to the biggest event in Muscat and to communicate its messages to the broadest number of people.

The majority of all waste water collected by the company's that is now being implemented across Muscat Governorate is being made available for use for irrigation purposes and helping to keep Muscat green without using either scarce natural groundwater or more expensive desalinated water.

Haya Water's massive water reuse project is now well underway and will be one of the biggest infrastructure developments of its kind and complexity ever seen in the Gulf region and one of the largest construction and development projects ever undertaken in the Sultanate.

Thousands of kilometres of pipeline has already been laid to connect homes and businesses to the new network that will replace the old, smelly and inefficient septic tank system that is currently used by most properties in Muscat.
