- PRESS RELEASE
The Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai (HCT-Dubai) organized recently 50 training offerings for its management, faculty and staff during the training and professional development week "Pick'n Mix".
The carefully selected 50 training offerings were planned based on a pre-need analysis process that explored the training needs for HCT-Dubai employees and were conducted by professional trainers from both the industry and in-house faculty trainers who shared their knowledge and best practices with fellow colleagues.
The diversity of the training streams offered during the professional development week contributed towards the great success of the event.
Sessions didn't only target Classroom and Teaching practices but also Technology training, Personal Effectiveness as well as Health & Fitness sessions.
Topics included Emotional Intelligence, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Ipad Core Competencies, Managing Change, Classroom Management, Positive Thinking, Public Speaking, Augmented Reality and Intercultural Intelligence amongst many others.
"I strongly encourage all of you to benefit from this special opportunity", Dr. Howard Reed, Director of HCT-Dubai said.
Dr. Reed continues that this is an opportunity for our faculty and staff to improve knowledge and skill sets needed to improve teaching and learning and ultimately students' success.
Mahinour Ezzat; HCT-Dubai PD Coordinator and the organizer of the Pick'n Mix week, said, "With the time limitation during the semester, it is very difficult for faculty and staff to allocate time for PD sessions. Having a one full week dedicated for personal and professional development is a great opportunity to attend a variety of training workshops especially those last for more than one day."
Mahinour added that the event gained very positive feedback and comments that are highly appreciated and considered for the next PD week which will be held in April.
