H.H. Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum opens Cabsat 2013

The event has grown by 15% and this year sees the biggest CABSAT to date, with more than 850 exhibitors from 57 countries making it an event of global significance. Delegates from the Middle East, North Africa and further afield will also be able to take part in a number of conference programmes, designed to further regional debates as well as to offer updates on current and future technologies.

This year's edition includes exhibitors from 10 new countries including Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kenya, Poland, Slovenia, South Africa, Thailand and Yemen. Additionally CABSAT 2013 is hosting 13 national pavilions, including Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, UK and US.

190 new exhibitors are participating this year including Al Futtaim Technologies, Baba Broadcast Services, Es'hailsat, Base 3, Etisalat and Yamaha Music Gulf, to name a few. Global industry leaders participating in the show include Arabsat, Blusens, Canon, EMC Isilion, Grass Valley, Harris, Nilesat, Oracle, SES, Siemens, Sony, and Yahsat, among others.

Specialist conference sessions include topics ranging from the growth of the satellite industry and new techniques in covering live sport, to how the service-oriented architecture can transform automated workflows and asset management.

Visitors can see the latest technology in production, post production, content storage and handling, and delivery both to traditional broadcast platforms and to new media including the web, mobiles and tablets.

CABSAT 2013 remains open until Thursday 14 March, in halls 1 - 8 of the Dubai World Trade Centre. The exhibition is strictly for trade and business only, and visitors under the age of 18 will not be permitted entry.
