- PRESS RELEASE
H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council attended a lecture by Jean-Pascal Tricoire, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Schneider Electric.
Tricoire's lecture focused on demand management and rationalisation, their positive economic, environmental and social effects for the emirate of Abu Dhabi and Schneider Electric's approach and the tangible effects produced by the scientific solutions adopted by the emirate.
He stressed that Abu Dhabi has a big opportunity to become the first city to enhance the efficiency of urban life through continuous interaction and harmony among people, buildings, vehicles, industries and public services and utilities. This, he noted, would altogether produce a common environment to reduce per capita carbon footprint to the lowest rates globally.
He noted that the goal is sustainable development which is part of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan's vision for development, welfare and optimal performance.
Sustainability, he further noted, is a noble goal and can be used in more than one way, but the optimal way would be using more technologies and introducing changes.
Tricoire noted that his company won Zayed Future Energy Prize last year for Safe, Reliable and Efficient Energy Solutions.
He also said that Schneider Electric decided to organize a conference on energy rationalisation in collaboration with the government of Abu Dhabi to provide contributions and proposals relating to the vision and plans of the emirate in the coming years.
Schneider Electric is a global specialist in energy management and offers integrated solutions across multiple market segments, including leadership positions in utilities and infrastructures, industries and machine manufacturers, non-residential buildings, data centres and networks and in residential. It is focused on making energy safe, reliable, efficient, productive and green solutions to reduce power consumption.
In attendance at the lecture were also His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, His Excellency Abul Aziz Al Ghurair, as well as members of the Federal National Council (FNC), senior officials and diplomats.
