Hikma Pharmaceuticals covers government's fuel subsidies for its employees

Hikma Pharmaceuticals announced that it will be covering the costs of the government's monetary compensation of fuel, by providing cash payments to Hikma employees who meet the compensation requirements set forth by the government's mandate to lift fuel subsidies.

This decision comes in line with Hikma's commitment to the national safety and security of Jordan and its responsibility towards the economy.

Dr. Samih Darwazah, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said, "We feel it is our duty to support the government and do our part in alleviating the financial burden on the Treasury; we also believe in lending a helping hand to our employees and supporting them in living a good quality life."

Hikma Pharmaceuticals is a fast growing multinational group focused on developing, manufacturing and marketing a broad range of both branded and non branded generic and in-licensed products.

Hikma's operations are conducted through three businesses: "Branded", "Injectables" and "Generics" based principally in the MENA region, where it is a market leader, the United States and Europe.

In 2011, Hikma achieved revenues of $918.0m and profit attributable to shareholders of $80.1m.
