Hikma Pharmaceuticals and Jordan Oncology Society partner to fight cancer in Jordan

Through this partnership, Hikma will be launching an Award for the best published medical scholarly article on cancer in Jordan, in addition to sponsoring nationwide cancer awareness campaigns, and scientific activities for society members.

The agreement was signed by Mazen Darwazah, Hikma's Vice Chairman and CEO of MENA and JOS President Dr. Jamal Khader.

JOS is a medical society of individual members working in the field of Oncology who share the common goal of providing optimal care to all cancer patients.

Dr. Jamal Khader expressed the society's pleasure in establishing partnerships with leading pharmaceutical companies like Hikma, and said, "This partnership will contribute to our ongoing efforts to promote cancer awareness and will support medical research in Jordan through the Hikma award."

In turn, Mr. Mazen Darawazah commented on the partnership saying, "Hikma has always been committed to providing high quality medication to patients in the region to offer them an alternative in order not to depend on a single source for treatment. In Jordan we are also committed to cancer awareness campaigns by establishing collaborations with competent associations like Jordan Oncology Society."

Hikma is considered one of the pioneers in the oncology therapeutic category in the MENA; it aims to provide high quality medications to various health sectors. Currently Hikma has two oncology manufacturing facilities, located in Germany and Jordan, with product approvals in many countries including the US, Germany, Portugal and the MENA.
