As part of Hamad Medical Corporation's (HMC) commitment to delivering safe and effective patient care, a new position of Executive Director of Pharmacy has been created to oversee operations in this crucial service in all the Corporation's hospitals.

Dr. Moza Al Hail, currently Director of Pharmacy at the Women's Hospital, will take on this new role on an interim basis and will work to establish common professional standards and procedures across HMC's eight hospitals.

"This important new role will set system-wide standards and protocols as well as provide strategic leadership for all of our pharmacy services," said Hanan Al Kuwari PhD, Managing Director of HMC.

"Our pharmacies are at the frontline of our services across the Corporation and one that impacts in a very real way on all of our patients.

"We continue to strive to provide safe, effective care to our patients through transforming how we deliver services and this new role is an example of that commitment."

Mr. David Astley Chief of Tertiary Hospital Group, HMC, said Dr. Moza will work to ensure patients receive consistent, high quality patient care and management of medicines.

"Dr. Moza will be the most senior pharmacist within HMC with full authority to ensure that wherever patients are treated they receive consistent and appropriate pharmaceutical advice from our dedicated team of highly trained pharmacists," Mr. Astley said.

Dr. Moza said she was honored to be taking on the newly created role.

"HMC is expanding rapidly to meet the needs of Qatar's growing population and to ensure we continue to deliver safe and effective care to all of our patients, we must look to incorporate best practice into what we do," she said.

"I am looking forward to taking on this challenging and vital role."
